Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson collaborate on new music

Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson are working on a new musical project together, a source told People. Details of the project are yet to emerge.

While it’s unclear if Miley Cyrus —who released one of her three planned six-song EPs in May — is simultaneously working on solo music, Australian star Cody, who’s been teasing fans about his new pop album for months, recently told E! News it had turned into a rock album.

As per People, Cody had said while attending New York Fashion Week in September that he was close to finishing recording his first pop album in five years. Then, in October, he released a new song, Golden Thing, apparently inspired by Miley Cyrus his new girlfriend.

The duo was first linked in October this year following Miley’s high-profile splits from estranged husband Liam Hemsworth and ex-girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter. Although their romance appeared to bloom quickly, the two have been friends for years.

Earlier Miley Cyrus has moved on and is cracking jokes about her short marriage to Liam Hemsworth, which ended earlier this year.

An artist with a penchant for viral installations known as The Most Famous Artist (aka Matty Mo) jokingly posted on his Instagram bio that he has plans to wed Cyrus in 2020, which unexpectedly prompted a response from the singer herself.

“Upping my manifestation game for 2020 and putting this out there,” he wrote on Thursday.

The 27-year-old singer Miley Cyrus commented, “It probably won’t last long,” she wrote, posting a wedding ring emoji. “But always down to try, You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

Miley Cyrus and Hemsworth, 29, announced their split in August after seven months of marriage. Hours after the story broke, photos of Cyrus kissing Brody Jenner’s ex Kaitlynn Carter were released. Cyrus and Carter were hot and heavy for a month before they called it quits. She has since been dating Australian singer Cody Simpson. Meanwhile, Hemsworth is reportedly dating 21-year-old model Gabriella Brooks.

Cyrus appeared to diss Hemsworth on Instagram back in October, saying she “thought all men were evil” until she met Cody Simpson.
