Hollywood Celebs spend a fortune insuring body parts

There’s no denying that Hollywood actress Julia Roberts is America’s sweetheart with a dazzling smile. She’s a phenomenal actress with a heart of gold. She’s made us laugh, cry, and feel everything in between.

Hollywood actress Roberts looks equally at home when she’s glammed up for the red carpet or dressed down in jeans and a t-shirt for a backyard barbecue. Whether she’s singing in a bathtub full of bubbles or waiting tables in a tiny pizzeria, her smile lights up the screen and melts our hearts.

Hollywood actress Roberts is renowned for one gorgeous characteristic. It isn’t the flowing red hair, or the mile-long legs, or even the bubbly laugh–it’s that dazzling smile. She definitely embodies that old phrase about a smile lighting up a room. In fact, her smile could probably light up a whole city.

When you have a trait as valuable as that killer smile, you want to protect it. Roberts’ has done just that–her iconic smile is covered. Covered by a whopping $30 million insurance policy!

You might think it sounds crazy to spend such a fortune insuring a body part. Of course, for us everyday folks it would be nuts, but it’s actually quite common in Hollywood. Roberts is just one of many celebrities who are protecting their assets with an impressive insurance policy.

From smiles to legs to butts, body parts in Hollywood are quite valuable. Let’s start off with a real jaw-dropper–Mariah Carey’s legs were once insured for $1 billion. Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has a colossal $144 million policy on his legs. His buddy, David Beckham, comes next on the leg list at a staggering $70 million.

Female celebrities seem to put a high price on their butts and breasts. Jennifer Lopez’s trademark buttocks are worth $27 million, while Kylie Minogue insures hers for a cool $5 million. As far as the upper portion of the body goes, Madonna leads the pack by insuring her breasts for $2 million. Country legend Dolly Parton insures her famous assets for $600,000.

Some male celebrities have chosen very interesting body parts to insure. Jimmy Durante (the guy who sings “Frosty the Snowman), insures his famously large nose for $50,000.

Interestingly enough, his nickname is “Schnozzola.” Food critic Egon Ronay can’t do his job without his taste buds–so he’s protecting them to the tune of $400,000. Former NFL player Troy Polamalu loves his luscious mane–loves it enough to cover it for $1 million.
