Rashmika Mandanna trolled for romancing Vijay Deverakonda

Rashmika Mandanna trolled for romancing Vijay Deverakonda. Rashmika Mandanna, who rose to fame with her role in Kannada film Kirrak Party has worked with Vijay Deverekonda on the Telugu film Geetha Govindam. Recently, she shared a poster of their film on Twitter. The poster featured Vijay carrying Rashmika on his back. This did not go well with her fans because she is engaged to actor Rakshit Shetty in real life and fans felt it was not the ‘right’ thing to for her.

Rashmika Mandanna had shared screenspace with Rakshit Shetty in Kirrak Party, which happened to be her debut film in the industry. The actor has multiple projects lines up including Devadas, which stars Nani and Nagarjuna in lead roles and is directed by Sriram Aditya. The actor will also be seen in another Vijay Deverakonda film titled Dear Comrade.

Rashmika spoke to Deccan Chronicle about the backlash she received online. She said, “When I uploaded this particular poster of Geetha Govindam, a bunch of people started posting mean comments. What I’ve noticed is that they create fake accounts and comment just to get a reply from me. I did reply to some of them and they apologised saying they just wanted to talk to me. They need to realise that we’re human beings too. Some of us are targeted when they see our growth as an actor and since they’re fans of other actors, they post such comments.”

There were many who said that she shouldn’t work with another man in a romantic role as she is already engaged. Speaking about this, she said, “Male actors romance other heroines even after getting married, but people have no problem with that just because they’re men! It’s like if a woman romances a guy onscreen after marriage, she loses her respect. It’s disgusting that people think this way. I left the trollers a message asking them to DM me personally and not annoy my fans. There were many who were jealous that I was acting with Vijay and that I’m engaged to Rakshit!”
